Field Hockey Second Pitch | Track & Field Stadium Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games (ACOG) Atlanta, Georgia
This 5,000 seat stadium hosted the second pitch field hockey events for the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games. After the Summer Olympics the original track facility was converted to football for the college.
The materials and articulation of finishes were inspired by the adjacent existing campus buildings. The stadium was part of the Atlanta University Center Promenade which provided the connectivity between the field hockey first pitch venue and the city of Atlanta pedestrian routes used by the great numbers of pedestrians.
